Hutto girl to represent Down syndrome community in Times Square

AUSTIN (KXAN) — After receiving more than 2,600 entries, an image of Emilia Nance, of Hutto, was selected to appear in Times Square on Sept. 6.

Emilia was one of 500 photographs selected to be a part of the annual National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) Times Square Video Presentation.

The one-hour video includes photos of children, teens and adults with Down syndrome from all 50 states and 11 countries, according to NDSS.

“These collective images highlight individuals with Down syndrome in the most visible way – on two screens in the heart of Times Square,” NDSS said.

According to the association, the presentation would also be livestreamed on the NDSS Facebook page beginning at 8:30 a.m. CT on Sept. 6.
