(Re: ‘How the separatist Parti Québécois took back power in Quebec,’ calgary sun.com) Here we have, in Eastern Canada, Quebec is laying the foundations to leave Canada. And in Western Canada, we have the province of Alberta, doing the identical as La Belle Province. We don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure this one out. But, our nation of today is imploding right before our eyes. As the idiom states, ‘nations rise or fall on its leadership.’ By all the evidence presented, this nation is free falling.

Appalling opinion

(Re: Editorial – ‘Higher immigration a looming disaster,’ Oct. 2. I am appalled at the diatribe directed against immigrants by, not only the Editor’s comments, but by Premier Smith’s devious referendum questions. I will remind the intolerant among us that we are all immigrants residing on First Nations land. If you choose to stem the flow, then please return to your ancestral lands.

Losing Greyhound

I have seen a couple of letters regarding the Greyhound bus termination nine years ago. I worked at Greyhound in the head office until I retired after 18 years in 2006. I used Greyhound frequently to visit with friends and family, travelling roughly 80,000 miles in Canada and America. We stopped in many small communities on the journey where the driver delivered packages to businesses. To say Greyhound will not be missed is an understatement. It was an essential service to small towns.
