Brown University probe ‘progressing extremely fast’ after cops bust person of interest at hotel

The investigation into the deadly shooting at Brown University is “progressing extremely fast,” cops revealed Sunday — after they detained a person of interest who is in their 20s.

Police stormed a Coventry, RI, hotel around 3:45 a.m to take the individual into custody after an 11-hour manhunt.

“It’s all hands on deck,” Providence Police Chief Col. Oscar Perez Jr. told reporters of the ongoing investigation.

“I think the fact that we work closely with the federal partners and different municipalities, the men and women of the Providence Police Department, the detectives, outstanding work,” he said.

“And I think that’s why we have been able to move forward as we have and progress in such a fast manner.”

No charges have been filed yet against the person in custody, Perez said.
