APD seeks public help finding 89-year-old last seen in southeast Austin



AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department seeks public help in finding an 89-year-old man who was reported missing Saturday.

Jorge Lopez-Garcia was last seen around 7 a.m. near Meadow Lake Boulevard and Lambs Lane, which is near E William Canon Drive and South Pleasant Valley Road in southeast Austin.

Lopez-Garcia is described by police as a Hispanic man, is 5 feet 10 inches, weighs 160 pounds, has brown eyes and grey hair. He was last seen in a dark long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans and white shoes, APD said in a news release.

Additionally, police said Lopez-Garcia “has cognitive and medical issues that require daily assistance.”

“We are concerned about his immediate welfare,” police said.

If anyone sees Lopez-Garcia, they are urged to call 911 immediately. Additionally, those who would like to submit a tip can do so via APD’s mobile app, Austin PD, which is available on iPhone and Android, according to police.
