Why this depression will last decades….

November 25th, 2008
by BB

The Tax Payers of the US have now put in more money into the financial markets. From Deregulation, things that were put into effect in so that another Depression will never happen were lifted about a decade ago. Citibank which is the largest bank in the world, is to big to fail. What happens when the federal government fails? You can’t just give money to companies that can’t control themselves. This will be a different type of depression. It won’t be like the one in 1929, but it will be harsh and longer lasting, it leave a lasting impression. Companies like Walmart and McDonald’s shouldn’t see much of an impact from this sector because people will still have jobs and will live within their means. People can kiss there 401k good bye. America’s investing power is gone, and so is the American Empire. This depression will not be swift, until the Federal Government gets out of the economy there is no end in sight. I understand how much worse things would be if the federal government didn’t do anything but with the federal government trying to over pro-act. This depression will be longer lasting with less peaks and valleys.

Yankees Free Agent Review

November 1st, 2008
by RDA

The New York Yankees have 9 potential Free Agents this year.  Let’s take a look at them:

Bobby Abreu, of -   Bobby Abreu has made a good argument for remaining in pinstripes.  Though he has filed for free-agency he has made it clear he wants to come back as a Yankee.  His 2 years and 2 months of service with the Yanks has seen him playing well.  I would see the Yanks bringing him back.

Jason Giambi, 1b - This one is pretty clear cut.  The Yanks are done with Giambi.  Next!

Damaso Marte, lhp - Marte didn’t really prove himself with his short Yankee stint.  I see the Yanks pursuing SP and a 1B first and then if Marte is still around they might throw hima bone.

Chad Moeller, c - Nice 3rd Catcher but doubt seriously the Yanks will bring him back.

Mike Mussina, rhp - This one is dicey.  The Yanks seem to think he’s going to retire.  He has talked and is talking about it.  If he makes up his mind to stay I don;t see how the Yanks can refuse given this year’s performance.  50/50 shot here for him to stay in pinstripes.

Carl Pavano, rhp - Next!

Andy Pettitte, lhp - Look for Andy to be back in pinstripes for one more year.  Though he did not have a great season without Moose and Andy there would have been an even worse record.

Sidney Ponson, rhp - Ponson will be back.  He is popular with his teammates and didn’t completely stink in 2008.

Ivan Rodriguez, c - Pudge is gone unless Posada looks bad in his Dec. 1 throwing program.

Until next time I remain your Yankee Beat Reporter.

UW Verses USC

November 1st, 2008
by BB

I am going to say upset, USC man for man, is better than UW. If only Jake Locker was healthy. We would beat them at QB :)

I am thinking that UW will put up a good fight, and by upset. I do not mean they will win, but they will be in the game till the end.

USC 35, UW offense wakes up 21.

Mora not going to UW, but rather Stay with the Seahawks.

October 31st, 2008
by BB

Yesterday, Jim Mora let Former Husky Hugh Millen that he is very eagar to be the next head coach of the Seattle Seahawks. Today Mora and the Seahawks said:

“I am not a candidate for the University of Washington coaching vacancy. I wish the university well with their search and the program nothing but sustained success in the future.”

Two years ago, Mora said the Husky Coaching job would be his dream job. He immediately fell into the hearts of every Husky fan. This is the type of coach we need, a coach that wants to live there dream here at UW, a coach that has the passion and intensity that a Coach Mora would bring. Willingham brought professionalism, pro activity, and lastly credibility. Willingham did everything right except win on the field. (that was due to injuries) because his depth chart was awful.

We need to do something about Huskies, maybe even bring back Don James.

Lane Kiffin interested in UW Job!

October 28th, 2008
by BB

Lane Kiffin the former Offensive Coordinator for USC, and Raider coach has express his desire to interview for the head coaching job at the University of Washington.
If hired, Kiffin would be a interesting choice due to his ties with USC, he might open the door for UW to get back into recruiting 5 star athletes from California as Don James did so, many years ago.

Willingham to step down

October 27th, 2008
by BB

So the once proud UW Football program has fired their coach. After listening to him on KJR 950 AM Seattle, he seems like a person that UW should actually keep. I have posted around the Internet saying that it is time for Willingham to be fired. I mean 0-7!, Willingham has 5 games left to make some sort of mark on UW. If he wins the next 5 games, including USC next week, Willingham departure would be a mistake. I think that all decisions should be made at the end of the season. Not mid season. I think that Willingham should step down now, and let an intern make a fool out of themselves. During the “Coaches Show” on KJR, Willingham expressed that a book will be coming out about all of his experiences.

I did want to say thank you to Willingham for bringing back integrity, and honesty to the University of Washington. Honestly this season we should be saying good bye to Don James, but the Dawg Father resigned around 15 years ago because Football wasn’t important to Barbra Hedges.

Who will win the Series? Tampa?

October 21st, 2008
by BB

Who will win the World Series?

  • Tampa Bay Rays (67%, 6 Votes)
  • Philadephia Phillies (33%, 3 Votes)

Total Voters: 9

Loading ... Loading ...

So I asked a question in the previous post about who would win the Series, Tampa or Phillies?

I honestly think the Rays have the best team on the field, and have had the best team on the field the whole season. And yes, I will repeat what I said for Red Sox Nation, the Rays are a better team, in the season, and in the playoffs.

When we look at the lineup, you will see a very good defensive and offensive lineup. Once highly regarded Yankee Prospect Dioner Navarro is the starting catcher for your AL Champion Rays. Navarro had a splendid season from both sides of behind the plate (Catching and Hitting). Navarro led all regulars with a .295 batting average, thou he only played in 120 games this year he wouldn’t qualify for the highest batting average, which was Akinori Iwamura, with a 274 batting average. As you see it wasn’t the Rays Batting that led them to the playoffs, rather pitching what Led them to the World Series was a mix of great pitching and fantastic batting. Evan Longoria led the team in OPS in his rookie campain. He wasn’t even on the opening day lineup, and didn’t start till around May. Longoria also played a great 3rd base. His stats for the season were, .272/343/874 for the season. Former Dodger Edwin Jackson led the team with Wins this year, but Big Game James Shield and Scott Kazmir were the leaders of the team.

The Rays will win the series because they were destined too since opening day, as well as having the best team in the MLB this season.

My prediction: Rays in 6 games.
